Your experience

Volunteers can choose to work in the following areas:

Working with children with special needs through assisting local teachers, helping to organise activities at day nurseries and schools, orphanage work, rural schools, English teaching.

Volunteers usually spend their free time in many different ways: sunbathing, visiting the volcanoes, visiting secluded paradise islands and beaches, exploring the jungle canopies by zip wire or visiting national parks and conservation projects throughout the country. Activities can be arranged easily on arrival from as little as £30 for a full day’s exploration from dawn to dusk.

Volunteers share either guest house style accommodation or live with other volunteers with local families.

Coordinator speaks English for out of hours advice and support but staff at centres may not speak English.-bring a phrase book!
